The KL program is designed to improve the self-image of our young males by providing them with challenging and rewarding community-based experiences that could ultimately change their lives. The program was conceived in response to the continuing crisis facing our young males within their communities, and actively addresses these issues through seminars, lectures, community service, field trips and workshops with the ultimate goals of improving cultural awareness/diversity, academic achievement, emotional, mental and physical health, and overall well-being.
The CVB KL program is comprised of middle and high school age males from Chesapeake and Virginia Beach public schools. The Kappa League program is an organization oriented toward helping young men to grow and develop their leadership talents in every phase of human endeavor. It provides both challenging and rewarding experiences which richly enhance their lives.
It is our purpose to help these young men achieve worthy goals for themselves and to make constructive contributions to their community when leadership roles become their responsibility. The primary focus of the KL revolves around the 7 Phases which are detailed below. Our Kappa Leaguers participate in community service initiatives, college visits, fairs, fundraising projects, and other outings/activities focused on team building and bonding.
