Cornelius “Neil” Hudgins IV was born in Petersburg Virginia where he was first
introduced to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. as a member of the Petersburg (VA) Alumni Chapter’s Guide Right Program. Upon graduating from Petersburg High School, he attended Morgan State University on a track scholarship but transferred to Norfolk State University on an academic scholarship. While attending NSU, Neil was a 1990 initiate in the Norfolk State University Chapter, the Epsilon Zeta of Kappa Alpha Psi and
graduated in 1992 with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration emphasis in Finance
and with a minor in Management.
Brother Hudgins is currently a member of the Chesapeake – Virginia Beach (VA) Alumni Chapter. As a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi and the Eastern Province, as well as a member of the million dollar club of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Brother Hudgins continuously supports all of the Fraternity’s philanthropic endeavors.
Brother Hudgins has held several positions including: His first appointment by the 23rd Eastern Province Polemarch John T. Lanier, Sr. as the Eastern Province St. Jude Chairman in which the province lead all provinces with the highest level of giving; Operating Assistant to the 24th Eastern Province Polemarch Dwight E. Thomas; Chief of Staff/Chief Operating Assistant to the 25th Eastern Province Polemarch Howard L.
Tutman, III.; Deputy Chairman, Eastern Province Council Planning Committee; Piney Woods School 100 Club; Chairman, Eastern Province Centennial Virginia Chapters Founders’ Day Celebration; Member of the National Achievement Commission, Member of the National Founders’ Day Committee, Elected Eastern Province Board of Directors, 2 time Polemarch, Chesapeake – Virginia Beach (VA) Alumni Chapter, 26th Eastern Province Polemarch, and National Chairman of St. Jude Children’s Hospital which he continues to hold to this day.
Brother Hudgins has received numerous awards including: National William L. Crump, Eastern Province Pillar of the Province; Eastern Province William L. Crump, Eastern Province Meritorious Service; Eastern Province Polemarch Leadership, Eastern Province Colligates Choice Award for Outstanding Undergraduate – Alumni Relations and the South Hampton Roads Virginia Pan-Hellenic Council Unsung Hero. Professionally, Brother Hudgins has retired as an Assistant Vice President of Technology for Bank of America and currently serve as a sales agent for St. Farm Insurance Company.
Brother Hudgins has been blessed by God with two girls: Eva and Tyler.
As Brother Hudgins continue to walk his faith as a Trustee at Grove Baptist Church
(Portsmouth VA) he is grounded by his belief ‘I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
